The Lee Valley Boat Centre is a small friendly business with the intention of giving everyone the chance of experiencing the River Lee. From passenger boat hire for larger groups to small rowing boats for up to 4 persons we aim to provide a means to travel along the River Lee at an affordable cost. The boats are available from the boat centre in Broxbourne with the exception of the passenger boats, which are boarded at the mooring slightly further upstream. In the interests of safety all children under the age of 16 years will have to wear a buoyancy aid which we supply and fit free of charge prior to boarding one of our boats (exception being the passenger boats which have their own safety management system on board). Dogs / pets are permitted on our day boats but unfortunately not on any of our small boats (electric, rowing or pedalos) or passenger boats where food is being served. The boring part - Please read carefully our Terms & Conditions (Day Boats, Small Boats) of hire for whichever boat you are interested in hiring as they include information to keep everyone safe whilst on the river.

Took my elderly mum and sister , we all loved it . Staff very friendly 2 scones loads of cream and jam and a couple of cups of tea . Was fun going through the locks . What a pleasant afternoon would definitely recommend.

Plenty of boats available very expensive for a limited experience as you can only go so far either up or down river

We had a wonderful family day out in the May half-term 2019 on Mr Fox, a canal boat equipped with cooker, crockery etc,. Everybody loved it. Ages ranged from 8 to 84: grandparents, parents and adult friends and a lovely mix of kids (8 to 13). The kids were basically in charge: making picnic meals which included real cups of tea!; steering the boat, working the locks. It was a 21st century 'Five have Adventures on a Canalboat' for the kids. The kids just loved the experience. Adults enjoyed a pleasantly restful day in idyllic surroundings with no need to sort out squabbles, calm sibling rivalry. Just lots of fun all round.
The staff at the Boat Centre couldn't be more helpful and friendly.
We have already booked up another day. Need I say more? More
