Visited here on a sunny Sunday, and it proved it be a lovely day out.

We got there and within a couple of minutes were given a ticket and told a boat would be ready for us in around an hour and a half. We didn’t mind the wait, as there are plenty of nice walks around. By the time we’d been for a walk, had some lunch and then wondered back, we waited maybe a further 20 minutes until our ticket number was called.
They have a very good process in place with regards to the current COVID-19 situation, so we both felt very safe.
The guy clearly explained how to drive the boat and then we were on our way.
Very peaceful and although quite a few other boats around, it feels very relaxing and picturesque.
Would highly recommend here for a day out, I would just however recommend arriving earlier in the day so your wait isn’t too long.

The kids were basically in charge: making picnic meals which included real cups of tea!; steering the boat, working the locks. It was a 21st century 'Five have Adventures on a Canalboat' for the kids. The kids just loved the experience. Adults enjoyed a pleasantly restful day in idyllic surroundings with no need to sort out squabbles, calm sibling rivalry. Just lots of fun all round.
The staff at the Boat Centre couldn't be more helpful and friendly.
We have already booked up another day. Need I say more? More
