Took a day boat out, Mr Badger, as an extended family get together. The boat is excellent, lots of room for socialising, kitchen facilities were more than good enough and... read more well equipped. You don’t need to have done this before, they are easy to operate boats and you get full instruction. The steering takes a few minutes ti get used to and after an hour your an expert! The children loved it, helping with the locks, watching the nature and learning to steer the boat (supervised by an adult). We had teas and coffees and warmed up croissants for breakfast on arrival( oven on board), big buffet fir lunch (fridge on board) and the afternoon tea on the home leg!!! The river is very pretty(south bound) and quiet so we never queued for a lock and made it all very relaxing. There is a free car park opposite the centre and sat nav took us right outside the centre so no problems finding it.

The staff were fantastic (mum was in wheelchair)... read more the food was pipping hot & very good. My mother normally picks like a bird but she enjoyed all 3 courses & coffee.
Our waitress was great despite one family giving her a hard time yet it was their mistakes!
Can’t recommend it enough & I will be back soon

  What a great time we had today with our our family including 3 grandchildren. We boarded the boat and the children started writing letters to Santa then posted them on... read more boat. Then santa arrived alongside us in another boat. Kids and adults loved it. Mulled wine and mince pies served to adults whilst kids went up and got small gifts from santa. Whilst cruising along the lea valley santa started a sing a long and even played his guitar. Great time had by all. Only complaint was kids wanted a mince pie so maybe one for everyone or a small charge to buy one beings as tea and coffee was available. Thanks for a different and great time.
